I wasn't exactly thrilled to be reviewing something relating to the Shrek films. I thought the last two films were completely awful and they put me off. However I was pleasantly surprised about Puss in Boots - not only was it funny but it was watchable. There is a lot of over the head made for adults humor in this but its something that the makers of Shrek specialised in.
Basically the movie follows Puss in Boots as he teams up with old friends to steal some magic beans from Jack and Jil, clearly this isn't an easy task otherwise there would be no movie so expect the usual here. It wasn't essential viewing or anything but I did enjoy it.
It can be a little dark in places but generally its a good laugh. Hopefully it means the death of the Shrek empire though as they can't possibly make any more terrible Shrek spin offs? I think the trick to enjoying this film is to go in with the least possible expections and do not expect to get a happy Shrek film.

I did have a review of The Rum Diaries ready to go as well, but I fell asleep five minutes into the movie! I do have Tower Heist to get through as well this week! So promise reviews of both!
